Deutsche Telekom had a solution in place but the interoperability was not very good and also they had an issue with user adoption. Users were not happy and they hardly ever used the tool. They started to look for an integrated solution, with Strategic Sourcing from end to end, and therefore integration from end to end.
Deutsche Telekom chose Ivalua, not only because Buyers liked it, they also needed to be able to customise one of the modules to do something they call Demand Planning, and they needed every sourcing activity to be done in Ivalua, or if done outside to be able to be tracked in Ivalua.
